PROGRAM LEVEL

Our programs are designed to provide students with mathematical and statistical knowledge and skills, to developing critical and logical thinking that enable them to pursue graduate degrees and to take up careers that will require skills needed in industry or academia.

The aim of our program is to achieve the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of teaching and learning, research and community engagement in order to be recognized regionally and internationally.

The bachelor degree in mathematics is accredited by the German accreditation agency ASIIN for the period 2019-2024. The program is designed to be aligned with level 8 in the National Qualification Framework in the kingdom of Bahrain.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  1. Work successfully in a career related to mathematics.
  2. Pursue a graduate program in mathematics or a related field.
  3. Use knowledge and skills of mathematics effectively to enhance the society development.

PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon graduation, an UOB graduate in mathematics should be able to:

a) Demonstrate knowledge of core areas of mathematics; statistics and basic sciences.
b) Use logical reasoning, formal proof, generalization and abstraction.
c) Apply mathematics to real life problems by formulating and solving them and interpreting their solutions.
d) Employ different mathematical concepts in solving a wide range of problems within mathematics.
e) Identify the relationship between mathematics and other disciplines.
f) Communicate effectively within practice.
g) Integrate technology in solving and understanding mathematical and scientific problems.
h) Integrate ethics, responsibility, legal and social issues within professional practice.
i) Perform basic scientific research.
j) Engage in mathematical lifelong learning through continuous professional development.
