UOB Organizes the First Great Research Seminar in One Of The Seven Global Mathematics Dilemmas

The University of Bahrain (UOB) is holding its First Great Research Seminar within the international "Crops" workshops to discuss one of the world's seven mathematics dilemmas.

The Chairman of the Crops Seminar Committee and Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the College of Science at UOB, Dr. Mustafa Ebrahim Mustafa, stated that “This scientific seminar is considered the first of its kind in the Arab world, and the first great research seminar to be held in the new academic year 2019-2020 at UOB, and it aims to motivate researchers to have more scientific awareness, and attract Arab minds to horizons of science and knowledge related to the global giant scientific and technological challenges.

It’s worth mentioning that “Crops” is an acronym for a periodic seminar held around the current major research challenges in science.

Furthermore, Dr. Mustafa said that the seminar will discuss a giant scientific problem in mathematics, indicating that the US has allocated a prize of one million US dollars for those who can solve this global scientific problem.

Also, he expressed UOB’s belief in the scientific capabilities of Bahraini youth in general, and in the capabilities of women in particular, stating that "There is great interest in raising the level of awareness of Bahraini women in mathematical sciences, by explaining these global scientific dilemmas in a simple way by international experts in the field." And he explained that by attracting women into these sciences and their dilemmas, it is possible to attract the rest of society, especially children and adolescents, through whom scientists can reach a solution to some of the scientific dilemmas that former great scientists were unable to solve, stressing the importance of disseminating mathematical sciences due to its importance in this era’s global science and technology.

Dr. Mustafa to participate in the seminar, pointing out that it is a non-specialized session and everyone can participate in it and benefit from it.
