Dr. Ali Salman Bin Thani

Associate Professor

PhD in Molecular Microbiology, University of Leicester, UK. Dr Bin Thani has more than 10 years’ experience teaching undergraduate students. Appointed in 2017 as Editorial Secretary in Journal of the Association of Arab Universities for Basic and Applied Sciences (JAAUBAS). His research interest is focused on studying the contribution of pathogenicity islands in the emergence of pathogenic bacteria; distribution of laterally acquired foreign DNA sequences. The development of molecular diagnostic approaches to detect pathogenic bacteria from clinical specimens. Construction of mutagenic strains containing truncated or deleted transcriptional regulation genes e.g., genes that encode for histone-like proteins and study their contribution to the expression of virulence genes.
