FACULTY BIO

PhD in Photonics, Brown University, USA Dr. Jasim was a Coordinator of the Central Research Labs at the College of Science, UoB. He has more than 15 years of experience in teaching and participated and organized many workshops and conducted many general scientific public talks and open day activities. He reported the operation of the “Passively mode-locked vertical extended cavity surface emitting diode laser VECSEL” which is anticipated to play a major role in all optical photonic computers. Dr. Jasim’s area of expertise is in Optical and electrical characterization of laser materials (Semiconductor); Fabrication and testing of optoelectronic devices, Nanotechnology (Photovoltaic novel devices); Growth of nanostructures; Nonlinear optics.
