FACULTY BIO

Ph.D, University of Missouri-Columbia, USA, 2003. Dr. Layal Al-Shaqri is the Chairperson of the Department of Chemistry since October 2017. She has worked as a teaching assistant at University of Bahrain prior to her scholarship for graduate studies in the USA. She worked as teaching assiatant at the University of Missori, Colombia, USA. She has experience as general science instructor at Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company (GPIC) and Bahrain Natural Gas Company (BANAGAS). She has gained professional training in UV-Vis, FTIR, and Stopped- Flow equipments, inorganic wet chemistry, and computer generated kinetic simulation programs. Her research interests are study of the kinetics of peroxo complexes of transition metals.
