FACULTY BIO

Dr. Maysoon Nedham Awadh is an assistant professor at the Department of Biology, College of Science, University of Bahrain. She completed her Ph.D. in Environmental and Molecular Biotechnology. She has many years of experience in teaching biological and environmental courses in the University of Bahrain. She obtained several academic awards such as the Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Award for Security Research for GCC countries, Al-Raze Award on scientific research from University of Bahrain and the gold medal in the Youth Scientific Research Exhibition of GCC- Youth and Sport Organization of Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr. Awadh published two scientific books, one book chapter and many articles. Her research interest and area of expertise includes biodesulfurization in petroleum sector, applications of biosurfactants, agriculture and marine bioremediation, manipulation of Agro-industrial wastes, and the application of omics techniques to solve different environmental issues. In addition, she has research experiences in many societal and epidemiological studies.
