Ph.D. in Astrophysics, Stanford University, USA Dr. Azzam has taught at Stanford University and the UAE University. He has 20 years of teaching experience and 25 years of research experience in high-energy astrophysics (gamma-ray bursts). He is an author and co-author of more than 30 scientific research papers. Dr. Azzam has organized more than 20 workshops on astronomy and space science. He is a full member of the American Astronomical Society and ex-Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Bahrain Astronomical Society. Dr. Azzam's area of expertise is in the theoretical modeling of gamma-ray bursts and the utilization of gamma-ray burst luminosity indicators in probing cosmological models.
