Prof. Sami Omar

Dr. Sami Omar has a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Bordeaux in France in 2001. He has also received a Habilitation degree from the University of Tunis in Tunisia in 2006. He was a research fellow at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany (2003-2004). Since then, he has held several positions in Tunisia (University of Tunis), Saudi Arabia (King Khalid University) and Kuwait (American University). He joined the University of Bahrain as a professor in September 2021. He is working on several research subjects dealing with number theory and arithmetic geometry as well as applications to coding theory and cryptography. He is particularly interested in the theory of zeta functions and their connections to the distribution of primes and the Riemann hypothesis. He has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and was an invited speaker and chairman in several international conferences.
