PROGRAM LEVEL
The fast-growing public awareness about the environment, chemical product safety and new chemical regulatory policies is driving the demand for leaders who are capable of understanding the science underlying environmental challenges and developing innovative solutions. In addition, the industrial sector is increasingly seeking professionals who have creative ideas with minimal detrimental effect on the environment.
The master’s program in Environmental Chemistry has been developed to provide the society and industry with competent graduates having an interdisciplinary curriculum that fosters proficiency in solving the environmental issues and to contribute to the job market sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In these two years program, students will learn to address global environmental chemical challenges with knowledge, skills, and experience from an application-oriented and strongly interdisciplinary perspective.
The program has five research areas representing different fields of Environmental Chemistry, which include:
- Water Purification and Wastewater Treatment
- Air pollution and its Control
- Treatment of Organic Waste
- Environmental Corrosion Monitoring Systems
- Environmentally Friendly and Green products
The curriculum of this program has been shaped according to the industrial needs and developments. Moreover, this program has been developed in cooperation with leading researchers and experts of the field from the industry. Thus, the students will have the opportunity to do their degree project in a dynamic and advanced research environment, using state-of-the art equipment, which are needed to fulfil their professional and academic ambitions
