DEAN’S MESSAGE
The College of Science is dedicated to providing students with knowledge, intellectual and twenty-first-century skills, and to preparing them for future careers, graduate and professional studies and to becoming active and contributing members of society.
The goals of the College of Science are to deliver high-quality education, develop academic programs in the College, promote scientific research, enhance academic and administrative capacities, develop financial resources and offer value-added consultancy. These goals are mapped to the University Strategic Plan for 2023-2026.
The College of Science recognizes that science today is both a global and multidisciplinary endeavor. Therefore, it strives to provide educational and research opportunities across departments in cutting-edge fields.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The College of Science was established in 1978 by the Emiri Decree No. 11 issued by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who was the Emir of the State of Bahrain at the time. It was initially part of the College of Science, Arts, and Education.
The College of Science is considered one of the important colleges that attracts an increasing number of students every year, as the number of students enrolled in the college for the year 2024 reached 2600 students in various academic programs, and postgraduate students represent 5% of the college’s enrollment.
The College of Science consists of four departments, and in 2025, the College of Science included 72 academic faculty members and 37 administrative members who work on a full-time basis, in addition to several academic collaborators who work in the college on a part-time basis, all of these individuals contribute to achieving the vision and mission of the University of Bahrain.
The College of Science currently offers 13 academic programs, including 6 undergraduate B.Sc. programs and 6 postgraduate programs (M.Sc. and Ph.D.), as well as an Associate Diploma in Science program, which serves as an exit option for struggling students wishing to leave the B.Sc. programs.
The curricula of these programs have been developed in line with similar programs offerings at regional and international universities. Both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs have been reviewed by the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) and other international accreditation bodies.
